Finding What was Lost – Elizabeth’s Story

My name is Elizabeth and I am 20 yrs old from Orlando. It was my second time at Winter Jam and I loved it! That night I recommited my faith for God and told myself iI was going to live differently, I was going to live for Him.

I grew up in a Christian household, which consisted of going to church every sunday and also attending a private Christian school. My mother was the one who really pushed our faith so that we knew who God was and how important He is. She passed away from an 8 year battle with cancer in 2004, when I was 12, and after that we slowly stopped attending church. It wasn’t that I lost my faith in God, but more like I put him on the backburner and did not think about Him everyday like I should have. I have attended many vaction bible schools and also have gone to night of joy & rock the universe in the past, but nothing hit me more than that night at Winter Jam.

When Nick spoke about going through the motions and basically living in the dark, I instantly thought about myself. It literally turned on a light in not only my head, but also my heart. I felt Jesus there, I felt God speaking to me, and I also felt my mom encouraging me to recommit my life for Him. As tears filled my eyes and I prayed that prayer with Nick it was like a weight was lifted off of my shoulders and I felt new again. It is amazing what God can do for someone even if they lost sight of him for a little bit. I thank Him everyday for what he has done for my family and myself. I hope to soon go on a mission trip and share the love I have for Jesus with everyone else and tell them that it is never to late to ask Him into your heart. Thank you so much Nick for the amazing things you do! Cant wait until next year !
