Not Alone – Ashley’s Story

I have been a Christian for many years, not growing up going to church too often, but knowing about Jesus. I didn’t know what to believe at first. Several summer camp experiences at PYC boosted by knowledge, curiosity and love for the Lord. Since then I have been a growing Christian, working at the same summer camp where I really got to know Jesus on that great level.

Recently I have been having problems at school: bullying, rude comments, and other things that make it hard for high school teens to want to head off to school every morning and deal with again. Friday morning was a breaking point for me. I realized I needed to do something about my situation, but didn’t know what. During the first hour or two of Winter Jam I realized that I needed to step it up another level in my Christian life.

Through the message of Nick Hall to the music and worship put on by the bands, Winter Jam changed me, and I am so thankful!!! I realized that, just like the song by Building 429, This is not where I belong, take this world, and GIVE ME JESUS!!! I don’t need to worry about the people at school, but more importantly being a follower of Christ our Lord.
